Whew! I’m glad that’s over! I spent most of last week schlepping furniture from my storage unit and various rooms and recesses of my house into the newly purchased 10 x 20 tent that resides in my driveway. Why would I do that? To have a large occasional sale, of course! I have sooo many finished items that I have no more room to store them, so I have to do as many sales as possible to sell some of this crap, stuff!
I used to hold the sales in my garage, where I could keep things set up year-round, but then last summer we tore it down and built a deck. Yes, it was Magic Dave who did all the work! It was a bit premature since I haven’t been able to find a location to house my store-in-the-making, so I’m trying to be resourceful and use what I have. My enormous driveway!
And now, the pictures:
Those are just a few of the vignettes that we had set up.
Don’t judge me by the cracks in my driveway. My house is 92 years old! I’ll probably have more cracks than that when I’m 92!
Bye from the bungalow,
Jean

Hi, I'm Jean. I live in historic Butte, Montana in a Craftsman home built in 1920. This blog is all about my adventures (and sometimes misadventures) in updating and decorating my house with antiques and vintage goods I find at garage sales, thrift stores, estate sales or wherever cool things from the past are waiting to be discovered.
This is so awesome! I can’t imagine that you’d price them as a typical yard sale though.
Did people try to really haggle pricing? I can see it being annoying, but fun! The displays are gorgeous!
You’re right. It wasn’t priced like a yard sale, but people seemed to get that there was a theme and concept going on from the moment they walked up. It could have been the sign and the matching t-shirts! I don’t mind people asking if I can do a little better on a price, but I don’t generally do much haggling. And thank you!
It was beautiful, thanks to your expertise in fluffing!!
Oh I wish I had been there – a gal in my town does this once a year and she invites friends and serves wine! So fun!

Mmmm. Wine. I hear it’s good for you.
